Hobbies

I love doing art and dancing. I have studied dance and movement from the time I was young and throughout my college experience. Dance is not only an art form, but I believe it helps us get more in touch with our inner beings and the inner beings of others around us. When we dance together a certain kind of bond is created that helps us to collaborate and communicate better with one another and understand each other on a deeper level. I have been painting in acrylic medium since I was in high school until present day. I love creating works of art that have meaning and purpose behind them. I believe we can learn so much about ourselves through creating a work of art. Not only do we learn, but the viewer also has the chance to see into the mind of the artist and what they want to communicate to society. Throughout my time engaging in these two art forms I have learned so much about the importance of communication and the human desire to be understood. I believe it is crucial to create an open learning environment where the child feels comfortable and like they are able to communicate openly with the instructor/tutor. When this kind of setting exists, teaching and learning can flourish to a greater degree. Children are more apt to share and communicate what they do or don't understand and the tutor is able to accurately address their needs.
