ExperienceI am in the education field because it offers me constantly changing experiences and always challenges me to evolve my teaching skills to help my students reach their goals. I have about 4 years of experience teaching religion, social studies, and English to both middle school and high school students. I consistently create time for one-on-one tutoring for my middle school students in a variety of subjects. In Washington, DC, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service, which I completed in 3 years, at Georgetown University. From there I went to Los Angeles and earned my Master of Arts in Secondary Education. While I was in L.A., I worked with the "Partners in Los Angeles Education Corps" (authorization in social science). I am adding an authorization in English, which I am currently working on. This fall, I plan to return to Loyola Marymount to work towards my next master's degree. As my extensive academic pursuits show, I enjoy implementing methods based in research in education. I was also a coach for the Catholic School's Junior High Academic Decathlon for various subjects and one of my current hobbies is researching topics for them. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cooking and catching up with friends.
